On May 16, a solemn ceremony took place in the Assembly Hall of the Twelve Colleges building at SPbU to award the honorary doctorate diploma of the N.I. Pirogov Clinic of High Medical Technologies of SPbU to Professor Qin Sixie, an outstanding scientist and representative of world medicine. This event highlighted the importance of SPbU’s international cooperation with leading global specialists and strengthened friendly ties between Russia and China.

A special highlight of the ceremony was the musical performances: Professor Qin Sixie played music on a traditional national instrument, while G.K. Zhukova, Associate Professor of the SPbU Faculty of Arts, delighted the audience with a piano melody by F. Chopin. This made the ceremony especially inspiring and memorable.

With great interest and pride for their compatriot, students from the Faculty of Philology and attendees of the Center of Additional Educational Programs in the field of Russian as a Foreign Language at SPbU, along with their teacher A.S. Tskhovrebov, attended the ceremony. For the Chinese students, participation in such a significant event served as additional motivation to study the Russian language and to pursue further development in the field of science.
