Recently, the Consul General of the Republic of Turkey in St. Petersburg, Özgün Talu, has visited St Petersburg University.

SPbU has long-standing academic ties with Turkey. Today one of the main partners of the University is TOBB University of Economics and Technology in Ankara. Namely on its base the possibility of the establishment of an institution affiliated with SPbU is being considered, and the framework cooperation agreement has already been signed.

Thus, at the Center of Additional Educational Programs in the Field of Russian as a Foreign Language a meeting with the Head of the Department of International Business of TOBB University, Mr. Hakki Arda Tokat, took place. He will personally accompany the first groups of students, coming to study Russian at SPbU.

Mr. Tokat met with Olga Igorevna Popova, the Director of the Center of Additional Educational Programs in the Field of Russian as a Foreign Language, and the professors, visited the hall of residence and classrooms, where the students from Turkey will stay and study. He commended the work done, as well as the prospects for cooperation. The first groups of students will already start their studies in the additional educational program "Russian as a Foreign Language. General Course" on June 2 nd.
