The closing ceremony of the Russian-Chinese Youth Forum

The Center of Additional Educational Programs in Russian as a Foreign Language at St Petersburg University hosted the closing ceremony of the Russian-Chinese Youth Forum "Meeting of the Yellow River with the Neva River" within the framework of the International Youth Forum "Voice of Friendship through Mountains and Rivers".

At the Forum, representatives of Shandong Pedagogical University, Shandong Transport University and Dezhou University were able to get to know St Petersburg University and additional educational programs of the Russian as a foreign language, which are implemented at the Center of Additional Educational Programs in Russian as a Foreign Language at St Petersburg University.

The director of the Center, Olga Igorevna Popova, spoke about long-standing relations with Chinese universities and expressed the hope for continuation of cooperation: "I am sure that our friendship will continue. We will be glad to see Chinese students at St Petersburg University. There is also an opportunity to become University students for 2-3 weeks by coming to us for training under the program "Summer School of Russian as a Foreign Language". If you study at St Petersburg University, we will teach you not only to speak Russian, but also to sing songs, read poetry, and show you the most beautiful places of our city!"

The purpose of the event was to promote cultural exchange and integration among young people. Alexander Vladimirovich Korotyshev, Director of the Secretariat of the International Association of Teachers of Russian Language and Literature, noted: "Russia and China traditionally maintain a high level of cooperation in all spheres. Such cooperation is impossible without young specialists – without you! I like that Chinese and Russian students are involved in the work of the Forum and show mutual interest."

At the end of the ceremony, certificates were awarded to the most active participants, students from Shandong Pedagogical University performed a calligraphy performance, and songs were sung in Chinese.
