Goals and objectives of the course: to form the students’ idea of the methodology of contemporary linguistics, develop the capability to conduct independent scientific research in terms of the selected topic of the Master's thesis. For this purpose, it is necessary to teach students the analysis of scientific literature, develop the ability to apply different methods and approaches to the analysis of linguistic units of different levels, consolidate skills of the design of a scientific paper.

The educational and methodical complex on the course “Stylistics of the Contemporary Russian Language” was developed based on the lectures of the Professor of St. Petersburg University K.A. Rogova. The main objective of the course is an original and accessible presentation of the highest tier of the Russian language – stylistics, as well as demonstration of the language capabilities during the transfer of the meaning-making mechanisms.

Russian is considered to be one of the world’s most difficult languages. This course is aimed at helping those who are interested in understanding the basics of Russian language. Each unit of the course consists of several parts explaining vocabulary, phonetics (pronunciation), grammar, and provides examples of simple dialogues in Russian.

Upon completion of the course students will have learned: the structure of simple narrative and interrogative sentences; formation of Russian names; three genders of nouns; the difference between Russian adjectives and adverbs, and their uses; the use of verbs in the Present and Past tense as well as their conjugation.

The course contains more than 100 new words and conversational phrases providing the learner with basic vocabulary for everyday communication.

Russian is considered to be one of the world’s most difficult languages. This course aimed at helping those who are interested in understanding the Russian language. Each unit of the course consists of several parts explaining vocabulary, phonetics (pronunciation), grammar, and provides examples of simple dialogues in Russian. Russian for Beginners 2 continues to explain the basics of Russian to those who have already completed the first part of the course (Russian for Beginners 1).

Upon completion of the course students will have learned: the main Russian verbs of movement as well as their conjugation in the Past, Present and Future tense; formation of Genitive, Dative and Prepositional case of Russian nouns, pronouns and adjectives; formation of cardinal and ordinal numerals.

The course contains more than 150 new words and conversational phrases providing the learner with basic vocabulary for everyday communication on such topics, as shopping, travelling, life in the city and personal activities.

Russian is considered to be one of the world’s most difficult languages. This course aimed at helping those who are interested in understanding the Russian language. Each unit of the course consists of several parts explaining vocabulary, phonetics (pronunciation), grammar, and provides examples of simple dialogues in Russian. Russian for Beginners 3 continues to explain the basics of Russian to those who have already completed the previous two parts of the course as well as the introduction to the Russian alphabet.

Upon completion of the course students will have learned: Russian verbs which indicate the object`s location; the verbs заниматься, интересоваться, поздравлять, желать and their conjugation in the Past, Present and Future tense; formation and use of Instrumental and Prepositional case of Russian nouns, pronouns and adjectives; formation of the Imperative; the use of Genitive, Dative and Accusative case in different types of conversational phrases.

The course contains more than 100 new words and conversational phrases providing the learner with basic vocabulary for everyday communication on such topics as housing, hobbies and interests, holidays and congratulations, as well as the vocabulary which can be used when going to someone’s house. More than 150 exercises are provided for the learners to apply the knowledge they will acquire on the course.

The course of Russian as a Foreign Language B2.1 and B2.2 is aimed at those who would like to improve their knowledge of the Russian language.

The course includes educational videos, podcasts, authentic videotexts for listening, authentic texts for reading, the sections “Grammar”, “Speaking”, “Mutual Testing”.

Successful completion of this course will allow a trainee to feel more confident when communicating with native Russian speakers, read and listen to real texts and discuss problems in Russian, comprehensively study the grammar of the B2 level, learn how to write texts of different genres in Russian, and most importantly, learn many interesting things about today's Russia and its history.
