On the current procedure for the entry of foreign students into the Russian Federation
Dear foreign students,
According to the Protocol of the Operational Headquarters on preventing import and spread of a new coronavirus infection in the territory of the Russian Federation dated August 27 th, 2021, No. 18kv, an algorithm for organizing the work in relation to foreign students arriving in the Russian Federation for the purpose of studying in educational institutions of higher education and professional educational organizations from all foreign countries, regardless of the resumption of air traffic, has been approved.
Arrival in St. Petersburg is recommended for the students enrolled in the programs that are currently being taught in a mixed or classroom format.
Not earlier than 3 calendar days before your arrival, it is necessary to make a PCR test for COVID-19 and, if the result is negative, to get the document in Russian or English.
Within 72 hours after entering the territory of the Russian Federation, foreign students have to pass a repeated PCR test. Before receiving the test results, it is necessary to self-isolate at the place of residence. Without a repeated test, international students are not allowed to in-class learning.
After receiving the test result and registering at the place of residence, you have to come to the office of the Center of Additional Educational Programs in the Field of Russian as a Foreign Language, located at the following address: Leitenanta Shmidta Embankment, d. 11, of. 306A, in order to comply with the deadlines of registration with migration registration at the place of residence. You need to have your passport and migration card with you.
Organization of the Educational Process
Education at the University is carried out in accordance with the Resolutions of the Chief State Sanitary Doctor of the Russian Federation “On the prevention of a new coronavirus infection (COVID-19) in organizations of higher education” dated July 29 th , 2020, and Order No. 7516/1 dated August 28 th, 2020.
At the moment, learning takes place in a mixed mode, which combines traditional in-class and online learning with the use of information and telecommunication technologies or e-learning technologies, as well as a hybrid form.
Foreign Citizens’ Medical Service
International students’ medical service is provided under a voluntary medical insurance policy (VHI). Each student has to purchase it at any health insurance company.
Within 72 hours after entering the territory of Russia, foreign students have to pass a PCR test. For those students who are under observation in the dormitories No. 13 (Botanicheskaya st., d. 66/4) and No. 19 (Kapitanskaya st., d. 3), samples will be collected by the medical staff of St. Petersburg State University.
Those foreign students who are not accommodated in the University dormitories need to apply to any laboratory licensed for such testing themselves.
Before receiving test results, students have to comply with the self-isolation regime, regardless of where they live.
